Edward H. Jaccoma, MD
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jaccoma specializes in laser and cataract surgery, dry eye and aesthetic eye care and is highly skilled in vision restoration. Dr. Jaccoma is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners (1983) and is Board Certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Intraocular Implant Society, the Maine Medical Society, the Maine Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the New England Ophthalmological Society.

Dr. Jaccoma is past president of the Medical Staff of the H. D. Goodall Hospital, past president of the Maine Eye Physicians and Surgeons and is on the active medical staff at both the Southern Maine Hospital Centers of the Biddeford and Sanford campuses. He is also on the teaching staff of the University of New England College of Medicine. He founded New England Dry Eye - a center utilizing the revolutionary technologies from Tear Science, Oculus and Derma-Med, where he offers Lipiflow and Dr. Toyos’ IPL dry eye therapy to treat evaporative dry eye disease. Dr. Jaccoma is also a practicing cosmetic Oculoplastic surgeon offering lid and brow lifts and blepharoplasty surgery. Dr. Jaccoma co-founded Associated Skin Care and he performs restorative treatments such as photofacial IPL and laser treatments, Pelleve® skin tightening procedures, facial contouring and wrinkle reduction with Botox Cosmetic® and using fillers such as Radiesse®, Sculptra® and Juvederm®.
Utilizing his decades of experience in the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Jaccoma serves as the resident expert in all of eyeThera’s medical related research and offers direction for eyeThera’s development efforts in innovation and new product development.

Craig Litherland J.D., M.Eng.
Chief Technology Officer and Regulatory

Craig is eyeThera’s Chief Technology Officer and head of regulatory compliance. Craig is a technologist with experience in all facets of device development with a focus on R&D, invention, and intellectual property. Experience in many fields including spine orthopedics, diabetes, drug delivery, gastrointestinal surgery, urology, tissue expansion, ophthalmology, neurovascular surgery, and automotive. 

In addition to leading the design and IP development on the thermaShield, Craig has been an inventor on many U.S. and international patents. Craig is a licensed patent practitioner experienced in patent prosecution and portfolio management. Craig has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from University of Michigan, an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Juris Doctorate in Patent Law from the University of New Hampshire.

Andrew Jaccoma, MBA
Chief of Sales and Marketing Officer

Andrew serves eyeThera with a motivated entrepreneurial spirit and strong managerial experience; he has a background in operations, innovation, sales, opportunity analysis, market research, grant writing, manufacturing and new product development. Andrew has taken numerous products from the idea/concept stage to physical sellable products.

In addition to supporting the clinical study’s and general new product development initiatives at eyeThera, Andrew helps to manage day to day company operations, helping to manage: manufacturing, sales and marketing. Andrew has a BS in Operations from Maine Maritime Academy and an MBA with an emphasis in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of New Hampshire.
